Job summary

Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, NJ is seeking an evenings shift, full-time Radiology Technologist. You will perform diagnostic radiographic examinations, ensure proper patient identification, and maintain radiation safety protocols.

The ideal candidate holds NJ Diagnostic Radiology license, ARRT, and BLS; high school diploma required. Experience with EMR and HIPAA compliance preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have NJ Diagnostic Radiology licensure, ARRT, and BLS certifications.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Obtain diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level.
• Identify each patient prior to exam, utilizing two patient identifiers per hospital policy.
• Reduce anxieties, provide explanations of treatment, and answer questions to gain patient cooperation.
• Perform portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
• Provide lead protective shield for patients to keep radiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable.
• Accept all assignments as prescribed by the Medical Imaging Coordinator regarding room assignment and work to be completed.
• Enter data using electronic medical records.
• Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
• Maintain policies and procedures related to HIPAA compliance.
• Perform any and all other duties assigned.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
