Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• On-the-job training in transfer techniques and basic patient care.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak intelligible English.
• Ability to communicate with patients, family, peers and medical personnel.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude towards patient.
• Must be able to function under stress caused by emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Transport patient to Radiology in a safe, friendly manner.
• Identify self and patient using two identifiers.
• Log out patient and obtain hand-off communication.
• Communicate with nursing personnel on patient return to room.
• Assist technologists with transfers or ambulation to prevent falls.
• Prepare patients and equipment for therapy.
