Job summary

Mass General Brigham Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a Radiology Support Assistant to assist radiology technologists and radiologists during imaging procedures. The role focuses on patient safety, equipment readiness, and smooth workflow in the imaging suite.

Working night shift, you will greet patients, position them for X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound procedures, handle image processing tasks, and ensure accurate documentation for records and billing. A high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 0–1 year hospital/managed care or radiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for radiology procedures, explaining the imaging process and answering questions.
• Prepare and arrange radiology equipment, including X-ray machines, CT scanners, MRI machines, and ultrasound devices.
• Help position patients correctly on the imaging table or in the appropriate standing/sitting position to obtain clear and accurate images.
• Assist radiology technologists with image processing tasks, such as labeling and organizing digital images, and transferring them to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
• Assist in transporting patients to and from the radiology department, ensuring their safety and comfort during the process.
• Keep track of supplies, including contrast agents, gowns, and other necessary items in the radiology department.
• Maintain accurate records of patient procedures, ensuring that all relevant information is documented properly for medical records and billing purposes.
