Job summary

Summit Orthopedics in Vadnais Heights, MN, seeks a Special Procedures Tech to operate radiologic equipment and perform diagnostic X-Rays per physician orders.

Company offers a comprehensive rewards package and base salary determined by skills, education and experience. Must be graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with ARRT registration and be willing to float to Plymouth, Woodbury, Eagan and Minnetonka locations.

• Reg Radiology Tech license required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms and patients, specific to the exam to be performed.
• Properly sets up equipment, trays, supplies, positions patients, and determines proper exposure factors in order to produce high quality images.
• Maintains patient records and ensures images are sent to PACS correctly.
• Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment and performs routine equipment repairs.

The Special Procedures Tech operates radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic X-Rays as prescribed by physicians and performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.

This is a full-time position primarily based at our Vadnais Heights Campus. Must be flexible to float to other Summit locations as needed: Plymouth, Woodbury, Eagan and Minnetonka, MN. Monday - Friday shifts - schedule is TBD at this time. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology with current ARRT registration.

• Prepares rooms and patients, specific to the exam to be performed.
• Properly sets up equipment, trays, supplies, positions patients, and determines proper exposure factors in order to produce high quality images.
• Handles all radiologic equipment safely and properly, keeping dose to patient as low as possible.
• Maintains appropriate supplies in the procedure rooms. Uses an established work pattern to work efficiently and safely within the special procedures setting.
• Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Positions patients and takes X-Rays of specific parts of the body as requested by the physician.
• Maintains daily log books, and monthly reports as requested/required.
• Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
• Cleans, maintains, and makes minor adjustments to radiographic equipment, including determining equipment repairs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Summit's hiring range for this position is $39.45 to $49.31 per hour The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation. Qualifications

Education: Associates of Radiologic Technology (required)

Experience

• Previous OR and spine injection experience preferred. (preferred)
• Previous special procedures experience preferred. (preferred)
• One to three years of experience as X-ray technologist, preferably in physician practice environment (preferred)
