Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff seeks a Radiology - Special Procedures Tech to join our 13-week assignment in Charleston. You'll work Mon-Fri with shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, under the medical supervision of certified radiologists.

Candidates should have at least 2 years as a radiologic technologist or 1 year in Special Procedures/Vascular Interventional Radiology, SCRQSA Radiographer Certification, ARRT Radiography (R) and BLS. Must-have: recent IR/Hybrid OR experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years as a radiologic technologist or 1 year in Special Procedures/Vascular Interventional Radiology.
  • Must have ARRT Radiography (R) certification and BLS.
  • SCRQSA Radiographer Certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform procedures under radiologists' supervision and assist as needed.
  • Support and supervise student radiologic technologists.
  • Maintain patient care and safety, following ALARA radiation guidelines.
  • Ensure correct orders, document procedures, and communicate with team.
  • Participate in education and training activities for staff and students.

Radiology - Special Procedures Tech

License: South Carolina Clienttion Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) Radiographer Certification

Certifications: ARRT Radiography (R), BLS through the American Heart Association

Description:Following established protocol and under the medical supervision of certified radiologists, Special Procedures Technologists perform procedures as a direct result of interpretations.Technologists assist radiologists in procedures as needed and supervise student radiologic technologists assigned to them.The role encourages and maintains good customer relations.There is frequent personal contact with patients, staff, physicians, and student technologists.Technologists are responsible for patient care and safety during imaging procedures utilizing age-appropriate care.They obtain correct written orders for procedures and efficiently use time to accomplish patient care assignments while meeting work quality, quantity, and timeliness expectations.Assisting in the clinical education of student technologists is also a key responsibility.They efficiently utilize imaging equipment with a focus on minimizing repeat examinations.Supplies are used with an emphasis on cost containment.Technologists instruct and prepare patients regarding imaging procedures and assist in obtaining informed consent as needed.Ensuring the patient's understanding of the procedure and communicating with family members regarding discharge instructions is important.They actively respond with sensitivity to the needs of internal and external customers.It is essential to ensure correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical histories are entered into the computer system.Technologists communicate effectively with radiologists regarding procedures in both verbal and written situations, presenting a positive and professional demeanor.Adhering to departmental and safety policies and procedures is crucial.They practice good radiation protection and follow established guidelines for relevant governing organizations.Practicing radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles is required.Completing annual mandatory in-services and maintaining current licensure requirements are essential parts of the role.Support for departmental efforts in meeting established projects and goals is expected.Maintaining confidentiality of medical and sensitive information is imperative.The role involves assisting other members of the imaging team and other disciplines, including clerical staff, to maintain records, reports, and files.Technologists consistently assist others in their section or help other sections of the imaging department.Functioning as a team player by offering help wherever needed is necessary.They demonstrate flexibility and accountability in job duties and are self-starters.Taking initiative towards improving departmental operations by offering ideas and solutions is encouraged.Other job duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.A mature individual who projects a professional and business-like appearance is ideal for this position.Maintaining strict confidentiality of work-related information is essential.
