  • Enrolled in an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved program.

Description:This position is responsible for performing radiological exams in a safe and prudent manner.The goal is to produce a diagnostic exam of the highest quality while maintaining a quality environment for the customer.The role requires performing a full range of diagnostic radiography.

Technical factors must be used appropriately including automatic exposure control.Technical factors such as kvp, ma, time, and distance must be accurately utilized.The appropriate cassette, collimation, and tomographic factors must be employed.Assistance is provided to the attending physician during exams.

Positioning techniques involve imaging and identifying appropriate body parts.Views must be acquired, and immobilization techniques utilized when necessary.Good sterile techniques are to be practiced.

Patient handling requires transporting, transferring, and positioning patients safely.Confirmation of patient and exam preparations must be ensured.The patient's mental and physical condition must be evaluated to avoid hazardous situations.Patients should not be left alone if their safety is in question.

Knowledge of Client, Departmental, and examination protocols is required.A working knowledge of equipment is necessary to troubleshoot issues.Awareness of when repairs are needed and how to contact the appropriate vendor is important.Quality assurance on films and equipment should be performed routinely.Scheduling examinations, reviewing daily scheduled exams for corrections, additions, or cancellations is part of the role.Completion of exams including Teleradiology of films must be ensured.Infection control principles must be followed diligently.Problem solving skills are essential in this role.

Monitoring patient needs is crucial.Necessary paperwork and archiving must be performed accurately.Confidential information should be handled according to regulations.Maintaining professional growth and development is expected through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.Ensuring no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies is a priority.Understanding of safety protocols, infection control, and safe lifting techniques is required.Compliance with organizational policies and procedures must be ensured.Interactions with team members and other support groups should be courteous and efficient.Professional conduct and personal appearance must meet the standards necessary for this role.Any additional responsibilities required by management should be handled to meet organizational standards.

The professional in this position reports to the Imaging Director.This role involves working closely with the Imaging team and other departments to ensure complete patient care.

Physical requirements include occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.).Frequent or prolonged standing or walking is expected.Lifting, positioning, pushing, and transferring patients are required tasks.The ability to push, pull, or move heavy equipment is necessary.Manual dexterity and mobility are essential for this position.
