Role Summary

This position involves accurately performing Schedule+ functions for physicians and patients, including insurance verification and pre-certification for all scheduled services at an HCA Facility. The role requires making and receiving calls to schedule services and demonstrating a commitment to quality customer service for patients, physicians, co-workers, and the public.

Role Responsibilities
Insurance Authorization/Verification
  • Complete insurance verification to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Obtain insurance authorizations, referrals, and treatment consults before services.
  • Coordinate peer-to-peer reviews between physicians and insurance companies.
  • Gather benefit coverage details and accurately enter into systems.
  • Collect diagnosis information or CPT codes from physicians or outpatient departments.
  • Maintain proficiency in systems used during verification and authorization, including online payor eligibility programs.
  • Monitor work lists to ensure timely processing.
  • Maintain documentation for compliance with regulatory requirements.
Scheduling
  • Make outbound and receive inbound calls to schedule imaging services.
  • Document notes in hospital and Centauri’s systems.
  • Provide patient prep instructions.
  • Coordinate with hospital staff for timely and appropriate scheduling.
  • Manage email inboxes and faxes for assigned practices.
  • Respond to voicemails and requests.
  • Maintain logs of scheduled patients and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Communicate operational activities effectively with team members and management.
  • Interface courteously with internal and external customers, maintaining a positive organizational image.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of the Patient Access process.
  • Identify and suggest process improvements for Schedule+ Program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Role Requirements
  • Excellent customer service experience, preferably in office or hospital settings.
  • High volume call center experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or two years healthcare experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
