Role Summary:

This position involves performing Schedule+ functions for physicians and patients, including insurance verification and pre-certification for services at an HCA Facility. The role requires excellent customer service skills and effective communication with patients, physicians, and staff.

Responsibilities:

Insurance Authorization/Verification
  • Complete insurance verification accurately.
  • Obtain necessary authorizations, referrals, and treatment consults.
  • Coordinate peer-to-peer reviews between physicians and insurance companies.
  • Gather benefit coverage information and enter it into the system.
  • Collect diagnosis and CPT code information from physicians or outpatient departments.
  • Maintain proficiency with verification systems and online payor eligibility programs.
  • Monitor work lists for timely insurance verification.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory documentation requirements.
Scheduling
  • Make outbound and receive inbound calls to schedule imaging services.
  • Document scheduling notes in hospital and Centauri systems.
  • Provide patient preparation instructions.
  • Coordinate with hospital staff for timely and appropriate scheduling.
  • Manage email inboxes and faxes related to scheduling.
  • Respond to voicemails and maintain logs of scheduled patients and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Communicate operational activities effectively.
  • Interact courteously with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in assigned responsibilities and understanding of the Patient Access process.
  • Identify and suggest process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service experience in office or hospital settings.
  • High volume call center experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or two years healthcare scheduling/billing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
