Summary Job Description: Receptionist Part-Time, 1st Shift BHCOR-Radiology Support I Corbin, KY The Radiology Support Unit provides essential administrative, technical, and patient support services that help ensure the efficient operation of diagnostic imaging departments. Team members serve as a vital link between patients, providers, technologists, and clinical departments, helping coordinate imaging services while delivering exceptional customer service and support throughout the patient's care experience. Responsible for performing clerical duties and providing support to the Radiology department in the capacity as primary customer relation contact to the patient and other visitors at the reception window. Assists patients and their families, physicians, and others in person and by telephone. Checks in registered patients for imaging exams. Maintains waiting room appearance. Monitors patient flow to ensure timeliness of scheduled imaging exams and departure to the correct departments. Maintains the integrity of imaging department films and reports. Imports outside films and imaging reports as needed for comparison. Assists physicians with access of radiographic files and reports by means of Powershare and/or cd export. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives.
Provides customer service support by verifying appointments, answering patient questions, explaining exam preparation, managing phone calls, and assisting with patient needs. Supports daily Radiology operations through order entry, scheduling, image and report retrieval, PACS/Meditech documentation, scanning, faxing, and processing requests. Coordinates radiology images and records for patients, physicians, outside facilities, and legal requests. Assists physicians and technologists with locating imaging records, reports, and other departmental needs. Maintains accurate records, protects patient privacy, and follows established downtime, safety, and security procedures. Promotes efficient patient flow and maintains a professional, organized, and collaborative work environment. Assists with training and instruction of new employees and students as assigned.
