Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Quality Control Compliance Coordinator for the Radiology department. You will ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations and accreditation standards, and support survey readiness across modalities (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, XRAY, Nuclear Medicine, and Interventional Radiology).

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT and CMRT certification required.
  • Minimum five years of technologist experience in an acute care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards (ACR, TDH, CMS, TJC).

Responsibilities

  • Verify QC activities in accordance with SOPs and policy.
  • Develop strategy to ensure survey preparedness with checks and balances.
  • Assist Radiation Safety Officer with QC tests daily, weekly, monthly and annually.
  • Review QC across modalities (CT, XRAY, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, MRI) monthly/quarterly/annually.
  • Oversee investigations and resolution of reportable incidents to regulatory agencies for all modalities.
  • Provide updates to Committees, Senior Management and Medical Staff Meetings.
  • Lead or support certification and accreditation processes (ACR).
  • Support safety and regulatory needs for RSOs, MRSOs, and site managers/directors/physicists.
  • Monitor accreditation, regulatory requirements and laws (TJC, ACR, TDH, CMS).
  • Attend facility and interdisciplinary meetings to ensure compliance.
  • Review and amend policies to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in action groups and hospital imaging safety committees.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in hospital surveys with documentation.

The coordinator also manages compliance-related tasks and maintains quality control programs for Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound. Under general supervisor, will collaborate closely with the Director/Manager and Radiation Safety Officer.

The coordinator also manages compliance-related tasks and maintains quality control programs for Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound. Responsibilities


  • Verify that all quality control activities are carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures and policy

  • Create a strategy to guarantee preparedness and a system of checks and balances to evaluate adherence to any survey (such as ACR, TDH, TJC, CMS, etc.).

  • Assist the Radiation Safety Officer in completing mandatory quality control tests and evaluations on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis

  • Review all modality (CT, XRAY, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and MRI) QC on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

  • Oversees investigation and resolution of incidents that are required to be reported by law to the regulatory agencies for all modalities, (CT, XRAY, Interventional Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and MRI)

  • Provide regular updates and appropriate feedback to Committees, Senior Management, Medical Staff Meetings, etc.

  • Lead and/or support the procedures for program certification and accreditation (i.e. American College of Radiology)

  • Provide safety and regulatory support for site\'s managers/directors/physicists, Radiation Safety Officers (RSOs), and MRI Safety Officers (MRSO).

  • Monitor accreditation, regulatory requirements, and relevant laws (i.e., TJC, ACR, TDH, CMS etc.).

  • Attend facility meetings and associated interdisciplinary meetings to accomplish all regulatory standards compliance in the Radiology Department

  • To ensure regulatory compliance, review and amend policies, processes, and guidelines, as necessary.

  • Actively participate in action groups and departmental and hospital imaging safety committees

  • Performs all other duties as assigned

  • Participate in hospital surveys (scheduled and unannounced), keeping accurate documentation of all processes developed to achieve standards compliance
