Job summary

Medical Associates of Northwest Arkansas (MANA) is seeking an Authorization Specialist at Fayetteville Diagnostic Clinic to secure prior authorizations for Imaging procedures such as MRI, CT, and Ultrasound. The role involves coordinating with insurers and documenting authorization details in the system.

Responsibilities include handling authorization workflows, using EMR data for clinical information needs, collaborating with referring physician offices, and requesting peer-to-peer reviews when

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 12 – 18 months related experience and/or training

Responsibilities

• Manage the authorization phase of Radiology patient encounter, verify with insurance via phone or online if pre-authorization is required for Radiology diagnostic testing.
• Able to use information provided in EMR system to complete the clinical information requirements for authorization.
• Works closely with referring physician office when an authorization request requires more detailed clinical information to support the required procedure.
• The Authorization Specialist will make requests for peer to peer reviews as necessary to obtain authorizations and approvals on testing.
