Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking an Imaging Department Support role to assist with patient transport and prep for radiology exams. You will use radiology systems to verify schedules, obtain information, and support technologists and physicians.

Responsibilities include room setup, patient greeting, scheduling assistance, and maintaining equipment and film/file records, in a busy hospital radiology setting.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Approved BLS certification preferred or required on hire.
• Competent in IV insertion and venipuncture as department needs.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficient with basic computer applications and email.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients between departments and escorts patients, families, and visitors as needed.
• Uses radiology computer systems to generate requisitions, check schedules, and obtain pertinent patient information.
• Assists patient in preparation for exam and transferring patients to and from exam rooms.
• Organizes and prepares exam rooms and work areas including stocking, supplies and cleaning.
• Greets patients and visitors, answers calls, schedules appointments, and takes messages.
• Acts as liaison between ordering physician, radiologist, and technologist.
• Provides radiology reports/images to staff and patients upon request.
