Job summary

UofL Health seeks a Radiology Nurse to deliver safe, patient-centered care in the Imaging Department, covering pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases. You will monitor patients during conscious sedation, assist with invasive procedures, and ensure adherence to protocols while supporting education and team collaboration.

The role requires RN licensure with an Associate Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred) and BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Requires RN licensure and nursing degree.
• BSN preferred for career advancement.
• Certification: BLS and ACLS may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective nursing care in the Imaging Department (pre-, intra-, post-operative).
• Administer medications and monitor patients during conscious sedation.
• Assist with scheduling of invasive procedures.
• Monitor patient flow in Diagnostic Imaging.
• Perform sterile prep before invasive procedures.
• Screen patients for allergies and labs prior to procedures.
• Prepare medications and IV contrast per protocols.
• Monitor patient condition during procedures.
• Set up sterile trays for invasive procedures.
• Educate patients before and after procedures.
• Document patient care per hospital policy.
• Respond to emergencies within the department.
• Venipuncture as needed.
• Orient new or temporary staff to duties.
• Support performance improvement activities in the department.
• Maintain credentials and certifications on file.
