Job summary

Washington University Medical Campus is seeking a Medical Assistant II for the Interventional Radiology clinic. The role combines clinical tasks and administrative support to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate charting.

Requirements include a high school diploma and CMA/MA credentials with in-person exams; BLS is preferred. The position requires adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, and EMR standards, with opportunity for growth in a university healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Registered or Certified Medical Assistant with six months of related work experience (examples include military medic, EMT, Nurse’s Aide, PT aide, or certified athletic trainer).
• Medical Assistant credentials must be from in-person proctored exams from NHA, AAMA or AMT; online proctored exams not sufficient.

Responsibilities

• Directly interact with patients in clinic setting and perform clinical tasks including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and medication verification.
• Prepare exam rooms, charts, and reports; manage patient flow and scheduling of tests and procedures.
• Assist with examinations, procedures, lab tests, and administration of vaccines or medications under physician order.
• Route messages and calls; coordinate care by contacting patients with results and scheduling follow-ups and procedures.
