Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Medical Assistant to support in-clinic patient care, room preparation, and charting in Saint Louis, MO. This in-person role requires active credentials or a plan to obtain them within a set timeframe.

The MA will handle vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, medication verifications, and assist with exams and procedures, ensuring smooth patient flow and high-quality care. Strong teamwork and HIPAA compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.

Responsabilités

• Interacts directly with patients in clinic setting and completes clinical tasks, which may include obtaining vital signs, conducting EKGs, completing a phlebotomy and verifying medications.
• Prepares for office hours by doing tasks, such as obtaining charts, scheduling tests and preparing exam rooms.
• Assists with examinations, procedures and lab tests.
• May administer medications under the order of physicians or nurse practitioner (vaccines and IM/SC injections).
• Directs patient flow, assists with special procedures/treatments and completes requisitions.
• Routes phone messages, patient questions and telephone communications to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules appointments, tests, surgeries, and follow-ups; maintains timely paperwork.
