Cynet HealthStaff seeks an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Hermiston, Oregon. The role is a day shift (10 hours per shift) in the Interventional Radiology/Cardiology area, requiring at least 1 year of IR/Cath Lab experience and current ARRT RT(R) certification with BLS/ACLS.

The tech will support diagnostic and interventional procedures using fluoroscopic imaging and ensure patient safety.

Description: The Interventional Radiology/Cardiology Radiologic Technologist supports diagnostic and interventional procedures through expert operation of fluoroscopic imaging equipment.This role involves maintaining sterile technique and procedural workflow coordination.Works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.Demonstrates advanced technical competence in procedural imaging, radiation safety, and sterile field maintenance.Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains professionalism.Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of procedures.Responsible to the Unit Manager and Surgical Services Director.

Essential Job Functions:Performs a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency.Operates fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging systems during diagnostic and interventional procedures.Ensures optimal image quality, positioning, and equipment settings based on procedural needs.Maintains strict adherence to radiation safety policies and enters charges into the system when necessary.

When assigned, functions as the scrub technologist using sterile techniques to assist physicians during interventional procedures.Prepares and organizes sterile instruments, guidewires, catheters, and embolic materials.Acts competently and communicates with team members during critical moments.

When assigned as the primary monitor technologist, records hemodynamic data and procedural events.Ensures allergy considerations are communicated and reflected in procedural documentation.Documents all supplies used and communicates real-time findings to the procedural team.

Assists with patient preparation and positioning and verifies allergies and other clinical factors.Performs patient identification procedures in accordance with policy and provides support during sedation.Monitors patient condition and assists the team as needed during procedures.

Collaborates with nursing and physicians to identify and manage contrast allergies or sensitivities.Participates in discussions regarding appropriate contrast agents prior to procedures.

Assists with managing supplies and inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary items.Helps with room turnover efficiency by preparing the room for subsequent cases.Performs equipment checks to ensure functionality and reports any malfunctions as needed.

Works independently, making evaluations and decisions based on verifiable criteria.Recognizes the rights and confidentiality of all patients and conveys empathy effectively.Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking is preferred.Ability to work with culturally diverse patient conditions crucial for successful procedure completion.The Interventional Rad Tech is accountable to the Unit Manager and Surgical Services Director.
