Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital is seeking an X-Ray Tech to perform MRI, radiologic CT, diagnostic imaging, and C-Arm imaging under the Chief Nursing Officer. You will interview patients, ensure safety, and follow radiation protocols to deliver high-quality images for physicians.

Requirements include AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program, 2+ years in a surgical setting, ARRT registration or eligibility, NC license, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AMA-approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• Minimum of two (2) years as a technologist in a surgical setting.
• Current BLS certification through an ARC or AHA accredited program.
• Registration through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or registry eligible to be obtained within 1 year of hire and licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Radiologic Technologists.
• Effective communication skills; both orally and written.
• Computer skills needed. Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
• Strong critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients for history and informs patients regarding safety, contrast media contraindications and procedures.
• Demonstrates compliance with state, federal and accrediting body standards in radiology.
• Cleans x-ray equipment and handles biohazard materials properly.
• Ensures safety through competency with equipment, radiation safety signs, dosimeter badges, and documentation of exposure.
• Prepares patients for X-ray by positioning, instructing breathing, and observing.
• Enters patient information into computer, selects protocol, and scans per protocol within acceptable times.
• Transports equipment and patients safely to prevent injury.
• Performs X-ray procedures on appropriate regions according to standards and protocols.
