Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital seeks an experienced X-Ray Tech to perform MRI, CT, X-ray, and related imaging procedures under the Chief Nursing Officer. You will ensure patient safety, proper protocol adherence, and high-quality imaging for physicians.

Requirements include AMA-approved radiologic tech training, ARRT registration or eligibility within 1 year, and 2+ years in a surgical setting, plus strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AMA-approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• Minimum of two years as a technologist in a surgical setting.
• Current BLS certification through an ARC or AHA accredited program.
• Registration through the ARRT, or registry eligible to be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficiency with computer systems and a focus on patient care.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, completes MRI, radiological CT, Diagnostic Imaging, and C-Arm Imaging to produce quality images for ordering physicians.
• Interviews patients for history and informs about safety, contraindications, and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with state, federal, and accrediting body standards in radiology.
• Maintains equipment cleanliness and safe handling of biohazard materials.
• Prepares patients for imaging, positions them, and communicates procedures.
• Inputs patient data accurately, selects protocols, and scans per protocol within timeframes.
• Transports equipment and patients safely.
• Performs X-ray, C-arm, CT, MRI, and mammography as needed based on competencies.
• Adheres to hospital policies including confidentiality and patient safety.
• Maintains diversity respect and follows Code of Conduct.
