This telework opportunity allows you to customize your schedule and caseload within the week while maintaining client-mandated turnaround times. Our reviewers are compensated on a per-case basis as 1099 independent contractors.

Job Summary

Utilize clinical expertise to review insurance appeals and claims, providing interpretations of the medical necessity of services. Ensure compliance with client-specific policies, evidence-based guidelines, and standards of care.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Work as a contractor with Dane Street.
• Receive a flat rate for Group Health Record/Policy Reviews.
• Review medical records and address client questions using specific criteria or recognized evidence-based standards.
• Provide clear, concise rationales with supporting documentation for decisions.
• Utilize current guidelines and literature to support objective decision-making, avoiding limited-sample case studies.
• Share criteria used during review promptly.
• Make mandated phone calls, including Peer to Peer calls if required.
• Review cases efficiently, typically between 15-30 minutes each.
• Complete reviews promptly, sometimes requiring same-day turnaround.
• Meet deadlines for case submissions.
• Maintain proper credentials, licenses, and certifications.
• Attend all required orientation and training sessions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and participation in audits or legal proceedings.
