Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time Physician Assistant for a remote site in North Slope, AK, working on a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off schedule (12-hour shifts). This role involves providing medical support at an oil site, including urgent/emergent care and occupational health services. The offsite physician backup is based in Anchorage.

Travel to/from your home state to Anchorage is required, with employer-provided transportation to the work site. Accommodation includes a private room, shared bathrooms, and meals.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary healthcare provider in remote locations, delivering urgent and emergent care, and supporting emergency response teams.
• Respond to medical emergencies, including trauma and minor illnesses, and coordinate patient transport, including air evacuations.
• Diagnose, treat, and refer illnesses and injuries, and conduct diagnostic procedures.
• Prescribe medications within the scope of practice and supervise medical records and reports.
• Lead weekly training for the Medical Emergency Response Team and maintain readiness of emergency equipment.

Qualifications

• Alaska State License / Certification
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• 3-5 years of remote or emergency medicine experience
• ATLS certification
• Graduate of an accredited PA program
• Valid driver's license

Physical Demands and Work Conditions

Work involves walking, standing, lifting, and assisting with patient positioning in challenging environments.

Contingencies
