Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a PRN radiology student in Birmingham to assist in positioning patients, preparing exposure factors, and supporting technologists and physicians across inpatient and outpatient imaging procedures.

The role requires enrollment in an accredited radiology program and BLS certification within 30 days of hire, with emphasis on safety, professional growth, and collaborative patient care within a fast-paced department.

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in an accredited Radiology program in the first semester.
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of hire or transfer date is required.
High school diploma equivalency and enrollment in accredited discipline-specific program.

Responsibilities

Prepare and position patients and select exposure factors accurately.
Implement radiation protection and safety standards.
Prepare for and assist the supervising technologists and physicians in a variety of imaging procedures.
Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly department including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and other areas in department.
