Job summary

UP Health System Bell is seeking a Radiology Extern in Ishpeming, MI, part of Lifepoint Health. The role supports imaging procedures and patient care within a busy radiology department.

As a 2nd year radiologic technology student, you will assist with imaging in multiple modalities, review orders, educate patients, prepare equipment, and transport patients in a PRN capacity. This is a learning-focused externship with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Education: 2nd year student of a Program of Discipline Required.
• License: Radiation Operator licensed through the state Board of Radiology, ARRT within 12 months of graduation.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• Assist with imaging exams in multiple modalities.
• Perform various clerical duties and assist with diagnostic exams.
• Prepare Equipment and Supplies.
• Transports patients.
