Job summary

Tryon Med in Charlotte, NC seeks a Director of Radiology to provide strategic and operational leadership for imaging services across sites. The role focuses on high-quality, accessible, financially sustainable imaging while supporting growth of the radiology service line.

You will partner with radiologists, referring clinicians, and enterprise teams to optimize patient access, drive performance, and ensure an exceptional experience for patients and clinicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, radiologic sciences, or related field.
• Progressive leadership experience in radiology, diagnostic imaging, ambulatory healthcare operations, or a related clinical service line.

Responsibilities

• Lead radiology operations across imaging services and locations, ensuring consistent performance, quality, safety, and patient experience.
• Drive service-line growth by identifying opportunities to expand access, increase appropriate utilization, improve referral capture, and develop new imaging capabilities.
• Optimize patient access and workflows, including referrals, scheduling, authorizations, patient preparation, throughput, and results communication.
• Lead strategic vendor partnerships to drive operational efficiency, standardization, and performance across sites of care.
• Manage imaging equipment and vendor performance to maximize uptime and minimize patient care disruptions.
• Own operational and financial performance, including volumes, revenue, expenses, productivity, equipment utilization, and budget performance.
• Build strong physician partnerships with radiologists and referring clinicians.
• Establish and monitor performance metrics.
• Lead equipment and technology planning, including capital needs, equipment replacement, PACS/RIS workflows, vendor relationships, and emerging imaging technologies.
• Ensure regulatory, quality, and safety compliance across radiology operations, including radiation safety and applicable accreditation requirements.
• Lead and develop a high-performing team, establishing clear expectations, accountability, workforce plans, and professional development opportunities.
• Partner with the Senior Director of Ancillary Services and other leaders on strategic initiatives, business cases, contracting opportunities, and service-line expansion.
