Job summary

U.M. FDSP Associates seeks a qualified dental assistant to support clinical operations under a licensed dentist. You will perform chairside dental care, assist with radiographs, impressions, photography, and infection control while maintaining inventory and patient care standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and CPR certification; Maryland radiography rules must be followed. Normal hours are Mon–Fri with benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; one year of related experience preferred.
• CPR certification required and must meet Maryland state radiography requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs intra-oral rinsing and aspiration procedures.
• Retracts oral tissues including lips, cheeks, tongue, and flaps.
• Places and removes materials for isolation of the dentition; ensures materials are not retained by dentition.
• Checks for loose bands.
• Provides oral hygiene instructions to patients.
• Performs intra-oral photography.
• Exposes and processes dental radiographs.
• Takes impressions for mouth guards or diagnostic casts.
• Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of clinical supplies and equipment.
• Cleans and maintains clinic equipment; cleans up disposable supplies after procedures.
• May enter data or schedule follow-ups as needed.
• Performs infection control procedures; sets up disposable barriers and uses sharps handling techniques.
• Applies topical anesthesia.
• Cures using a halogen light.
