The CT technologist will demonstrate professionalism and service excellence while performing a variety of tasks related to patient care and imaging procedures. This role requires effective communication, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to maintain a sterile work environment.
Responsibilities
- Obtain necessary medical, surgical, and radiological supplies for specific procedures according to established protocols.
- Maintain sterility of the field and instruments, ensuring cleanliness and orderliness in the work area.
- Communicate to patients and their families to alleviate anxiety while maintaining privacy and dignity.
- Verify patient identification in accordance with policy and ensure the availability of medical records and previous reports.
- Monitor patient conditions before and after contrast injections, reporting any changes to nursing staff and radiologists.
- Assist in maintaining CT storeroom inventory and notify Lead of expired or soon to expire supplies and equipment.
- Triaging procedures to ensure timely coordination of emergency and unscheduled requests, maintaining workflow within the section.
- Participate in daily inventory and routine cleaning of the CT unit and peripheral equipment.
- Perform venipuncture and adhere to power injector protocols as necessary.
Schedule
This is an overnight position scheduled for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 7 PM to 8 AM.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- HS diploma or GED
- Completion of a Radiographer Technical training program from a School of Radiography or College-based Radiography program
- ARRT RT (R) certification
- ARRT RT (CT) certification
- New Jersey State X-Ray License (NJDEP)
- BLS Certification
