We are seeking a highly skilled Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to independently perform imaging procedures utilizing established scan protocols. In this role, you will apply independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to utilize prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Your responsibilities will include performing a variety of technical procedures, adjusting protocols as necessary, and ensuring the safe administration of contrast media.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform computed tomography procedures using established scan protocols, including contrast administration.
- Adjust protocols based on independent judgment to ensure optimal imaging results.
- Utilize complex imaging equipment to acquire, analyze, reconstruct, and document image data.
- Demonstrate proper technique in venipuncture and use of power injectors as per set protocols.
- Administer PO, rectal, and IV contrast as directed by physician orders, while assessing patients for potential risk factors.
- Communicate effectively with patients and co-workers, ensuring a high level of care, respect, and clarity in instruction.
- Utilize two patient identifiers to ensure accurate patient identification and follow universal protocols during procedures.
- Review patient history, assess physician orders, and document relevant information in electronic records.
- Ensure exams are properly coded, tracked, and entered for adequate charges.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
- CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was obtained or date of hire if it's already obtained.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
- Licensure: ARRT Certificate, Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, PA Act 73 certifications if applicable.
Schedule
This position operates on a Day Shift, working 8 hours per day, 5 days a week.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
