Description:The CT Technologist performs diagnostic CT examinations and assists physicians with invasive CT procedures.Prepares examinations for interpretation and maintains radiation safety.Assists with maintaining supplies.Performs and documents diagnostic CT examinations upon the order of an approved healthcare provider.Facilitates appropriate handoff and continuity of care communication to the next caregiver.Analyzes CT examinations for quality control purposes.Prepares completed examinations for interpretation by the radiologist.Operates all CT and related equipment.Operates all facility-based computer systems.Administers oral and intravenous contrast media under the direction of the physician per protocol.Transports, moves, and positions patients in a safe and appropriate manner.Assists physicians with special procedures involving the use of CT.Participates in quality assurance and quality control activities as related to CT.Maintains annual CPR certification.Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
