Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to lead quality improvements and promote optimal patient outcomes within a designated specialty. The CNS collaborates across patient, nursing practice and organizational spheres and participates in the nursing leadership team.

The CNS will mentor staff, implement evidence-based care, and drive best practices across shifts. This full-time role requires state RN licensure and CNS certification, with 64 hours per pay period and

Qualifications

• Master's degree with a major in nursing with a Clinical Nurse Specialist focus.
• Experience as a CNS preferred.
• Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient needs and CNS workload.
• Five years of successful work experience in nursing with two years in the specialty area preferred.
• RN license by applicable state requirements (may require license in multiple states).
• Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers.

Responsibilities

• The CNS works collaboratively to improve the quality of patient care and outcomes in a designated population/specialty practice.
• Functions as a leader within the spheres of influence (Patient/Client, Nurses and Nursing Practice, Organization/System).
• Active participant in the nursing leadership team.
• Role is eligible for TN sponsorship.
