Description: The position is located in the cardiac catheterization lab. The lab consists of six suites, and the average number of cases per day is between 10 to 15. The job duties include scrubbing, monitoring hemodynamics, and circulating during procedures. Cardiologists are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A primary charge nurse will be present from 0600 to 1530. The primary charge nurse does not routinely complete cases but is available for call. Shifts are typically 9 hours with rotating weekends and holidays. On-call hours are assigned on a rotational basis, with an average of 8 to 9 shifts per month. Holiday call requirements are handled on a rotational basis as well. The response time for call is expected to be within 30 minutes from the time of the page. Technologists are not required to float to other areas at this time. Scrubs are provided by the facility. Orientation usually lasts between 3 to 5 days. There is a mandatory call list that is utilized when staff cannot fulfill their scheduled call shift.
