Job summary

Catholic Health on Long Island is seeking a Radiology Support professional to assist in exam preparation and patient transport. You will support transport between ER, CT and radiology departments, verify patient information, and help ensure accurate requisitions and safe patient handling.

The role emphasizes timely communication, professionalism, and collaboration with physicians and technologists in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Excellent Communication Skills.
• Computer Skills Required.
• Enrolled in an accredited Radiology program; preferred.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.

Responsibilities

• Determine appropriateness of examinations and contact physicians to clarify or modify orders when necessary
• Transfer patients on/off exam tables
• Transport patients through the ER to the CT Scanner and/or radiology department
• Answers telephones in a timely manner
• Communicates with professionalism at all times
• For outpatients, check prescriptions to ensure patient demographics are correct, physician signature present, and reason for exam listed
• For inpatients, check requisitions for accuracy, including verify patient identification, physician's signature, and diagnosis.
• Arrange transport
• Assist in procedure rooms
• Update technologists with appointment status (cancelations, changes, etc)
