Job summary

Brown University Health’s Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI is seeking staff to assist in the Diagnostic Imaging division. Responsibilities include transporting patients, preparing rooms and radiographic images, and supporting radiographers during portable procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read/write English and perform basic arithmetic.
• Interpersonal and language skills to interact with staff, patients and vendors.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiographer with portable radiographic procedures.
• Prepare patient and room for radiographic procedures.
• Lift and position patient for radiographic procedures.
• Verify patient identification and procedure details.
• Provide transport services for radiology patients/equipment.
• Secure transport equipment (stretcher, wheelchair, IV pole, oxygen, linen).
• Clean and prepare stretcher before/after use.
• Ensure room is prepared for the procedure and maintain safety and infection control.
• Support a patient- and family-centered care approach in line with hospital mission.
