Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an Environmental Health Technician to support the Radiological Materials Laboratory (RML) Operations Unit. The role involves preparing, assembling, configuring, operating, and maintaining facilities for testing and decommissioning activities in a nuclear lab setting.

Candidates should have 4+ years of related experience or appropriate degrees/qualifications and demonstrate the ability to work safely with radioactive materials per Technical Work Documents;

Qualifications

  • Must have nuclear lab or radiological work experience.
  • Experience performing hands-on radiological tasks.
  • Ability to carry out tasks according to Technical Work Documents.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and safety-conscious approach.

Responsibilities

  • Support and extend the mission of the Radiological Materials Laboratory (RML) Operations Unit.
  • Prepare, assemble, configure, operate, maintain and decommission testing facilities per tasks.
  • Work as part of the Radiological Work Team ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Execute tasks involving radioactive materials and systems in a controlled environment.
