Job summary

EnergySolutions is hiring a Chemical Decontamination Technician to operate the plant at the Three Mile Island facility. You will follow strict procedures, work instructions, safety controls, and stop-work when conditions differ from approved parameters.

You will monitor equipment, record data, and contribute to throughputs while maintaining logs and using PPE in a radiological, controlled environment. Training and teamwork are essential in this highly regulated setting.

Qualifications

• Follow detailed procedures, work instructions, permits, and safety requirements.
• Read and interpret operating procedures and system diagrams.
• Experience with industrial chemicals and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Operate the chemical decontamination plant system at the TMI-2 facility.
• Adhere to procedures, safety protocols, and performance metrics.
• Drive operational improvements to increase throughput.
• Use Stop Work Authority and notify when plant conditions differ from procedures.
• Perform pre-op inspections, startups, normal operations, shutdowns, and post-op activities.
• Monitor process parameters, including temperatures, pressures, flow rates, and chemical concentrations.
• Record operating data, logs, and maintain accurate records.
• Handle chemical transfer, sampling, neutralization, filtration, and waste handling as authorized.
• Inspect pumps, valves, tanks, piping, and other components for anomalies.
• Support system commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment modifications.
• Participate in pre-job briefings, shift turnovers, and safety meetings.
