Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC's WECTEC Staffing Services seeks a Decontamination Technician at the Waterford, CT plant to perform housekeeping and decontamination in Radiological Control Areas, using test equipment as needed.

Responsibilities include climbing ladders, maintaining unescorted access, and training to operate equipment such as high‑pressure sprayers, vacuums, small pendant cranes, and hoists. A high school diploma or GED, drug screen and security background check are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Pass a drug test.
• Pass a security background check.

Responsibilities

• Climb ladders and work at multiple heights.
• Meet all requirements to maintain unescorted access.
• Operate equipment including high-pressure sprayers, vacuums, cranes and hoist.
• Understand and follow technical requirements and directives related to a nuclear plant.
• May require respirator physical and training.
• Work in adverse conditions such as high temperatures and confined spaces.
