The role includes conducting radiological surveys, documenting results, and reviewing work documents for compliance. On-site at the Naval Reactors Facility (NRF) at INL, the candidate must obtain radiological controls qualifications and a DOE L security clearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two years of college (math or science program), or vocational school Radiological Technician program is preferred.
• The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain radiological controls qualifications.
• The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) “L” security clearance.
• Special Note: If not previously Article 108 RCT qualified, relocation to Norfolk, Virginia for ~6 months to attend RCTQS.

Responsibilities

• Provides radiological oversight and leadership for all crew personnel to ensure the highest radiological standards are kept.
• Performs radiological surveys of work, work areas, and accurately documents radiological surveys.
• Interprets radiological controls requirements, participates in task scoping, and provides technical review of work documents.
• Interface with operations personnel concerning radiological controls during work execution.
• Respond to radiological casualties as necessary.
