Job summary

Advanced Technologies and Laboratories in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a Radiation Control Technician to support BWXT projects. You will perform radiological work and ensure compliance with radiation protection plans and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years relevant radiological experience.
• DOE security clearance (Q) required; L clearance upgrade may be needed.
• NRRPT registration may be provided as equivalency.
• HAZWOPER training and respirator medical certification required.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Project Manager and Field Operations Manager.
• Perform radiological work in compliance with BWXT policies and procedures.
• Oversee Field Operations execution of FWPs and WOs to ensure adherence to radiological plans.
• Characterize radiological waste (NDA and surveys).
• Attend site radiological meetings and participate in project estimates.
• Interface with the customer Radiation Protection organization.
• Lead or participate in RWP meetings and training for Field Operations.
• Perform Field Operations Technician duties when not assigned as radiological controls technician.
