WVJC is seeking a Radiologic Technology Clinical Coordinator to provide leadership in developing, conducting, and assessing the clinical education program across sites.   • Minimum 2 years of full-time clinical experience and 1 year as instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program.

  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and processes for radiography programs.

Job description

Radiologic Technology Clinical Coordinator

The Clinical Coordinator provides effective leadership in developing, conducting, and ongoing assessment of the clinical education program. Management of the program’s clinical activities include: organization, development and administration of, the clinical curriculum; planning for, acquisition of, and communication with, locations needed for development of evolving practice skills; ensuring that appropriate supervision/assessment of students is available at all clinical sites; and ongoing assessment of the overall effectiveness of the clinical training for all students. The Clinical Coordinator will assume other responsibilities – within the program (administrative, teaching in the classroom and the laboratory) or as determined by the program sponsor – when assigned. The Clinical Coordinator also plays a key role in student recruitment, retention, and success.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Program Director to ensure effective program operations.
  • Participation in the accreditation and assessment processes.
  • Participation in didactic and/or clinical instruction.
  • Maintenance of knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress.
  • Participate in the Advisory Committee and Assessment Committee meetings.
  • Clinical Education and Supervision
    • Management of the program’s clinical activities include organization, development andadministration of the clinical curriculum; planning for, acquisition of, and communication with,locations needed for development of evolving practice skills; ensuring that appropriate
    • Supervision/assessment of students is available at all clinical sites, and ongoing assessment of theoverall effectiveness of the clinical training for all students.
    • CC to ensure that clinical education for program students is coordinated with didactic and laboratoryactivities and is sufficient to meet program outcomes required by the JRCERT Standards.
    • Collaborate with clinical site preceptors to ensure proper training and subsequently the evaluationof performance.
  • Curriculum Development and Evaluation
    • Collaborate with faculty to develop and review the Radiologic Technology Program curriculum,ensuring it meets industry standards and educational requirements.
    • Monitor and assess curriculum effectiveness and make necessary revisions or updates.
    • Integrate emerging trends and advances in radiography education into the curriculum.
    • Monitor student competency completion to ensure ARRT requirements are being met.
  • Faculty and Staff Supervision
    • Provide guidance and support to faculty in curriculum delivery, instructional methods, and studentassessment.
    • Assist with evaluation of program faculty ensuring proper methodology and student outcomes areoccurring through program effectiveness.
  • Clinical Affiliations and Industry Partnerships
    • Establish and maintain relationships with clinical sites, hospitals, and healthcare facilities to secureclinical placement opportunities for students.
    • Collaborate with clinical affiliates to ensure high-quality clinical experience for students andmaintain positive partnerships.
    • Foster relationships with industry partners to stay informed about advancements in respiratorytherapy practice and potential employment opportunities for graduates.
    • Ensure clinical education for program students is coordinated with didactic and laboratory activitiesand is sufficient to meet program outcomes required by the JRCERT Standards.
    • Collaborate with employer representatives on the Advisory Committee (when applicable) and/orwith department supervisors at the clinical sites, to identify suitable preceptors to supervisestudents.
  • Student Recruitment and Support
    • Participate in student recruitment efforts, including but not limited to: attending college fairs, hostinginformation sessions, and advising prospective students.
    • Develop and implement strategies to support student retention, success, and timely programcompletion.
    • Demonstrate frequent, regular and consistent contact with students, clinical faculty, and clinical
    • affiliates at all program locations.
    • Always provides availability and accessibility to students and clinical faculty when students areengaged in clinical coursework.
    • Provide guidance and support to students in academic and career matters, promoting a positiveand supportive learning environment.
  • Program Evaluation and Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain current knowledge of professional discipline and educational methodologies throughcontinuing professional development.
    • Monitor program outcomes and assess student learning to ensure program effectiveness andcompliance with accreditation standards.
    • Conduct regular program evaluations and use feedback from students, faculty, and employers toidentify areas for improvement.

While the Clinical Coordinator is responsible for fulfilling all primary responsibilities listed above to achieve the immediate goals of the campus, he/she is responsible for meeting all organization goals. As such, adjustments or additions to these responsibilities and the methods by which they are achieved may be required by management to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency across departments, campuses and the organization.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited radiography program, current ARRT and state licenses
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of full-time clinical AND one year instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program
  • Other:
    • Proficiency in curriculum development, supervision, instruction,evaluation, and academic advising
    • Knowledge of accreditation standards and processes for radiographyprograms
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and externalstakeholders
