Job summary

Southeast Medical Group is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist to cover Cumming and Alpharetta locations. The role focuses on high-quality general X-ray exams with patient care as priority.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in Allied Health or Sciences.
  • Passed the registry or set to take exams for license and be in good standing with the ARRT.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and experience in positioning for exams with the ability to adapt for challenging situations.
  • Must have good stamina and be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Have strong time management skills, be detail oriented and reliable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a fast learner with a basic understanding of computers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with providers and MAs to determine the best exam for the patient diagnosis.
  • Explain procedures to patients and assist in positioning for exams, using aids if necessary.
  • Reduce radiation exposure through proper protection techniques and shielding.
  • Produce high-quality images with correct markers and orientation.
  • Review images to ensure all anatomy is captured and identify potential anomalies.
  • Maintain a log of exams and ensure timely delivery of results to the provider.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment and report equipment issues promptly.
  • Assist in clinic by inputting faxes and clinical documents and aiding with drug reps.

This position will cover both Cumming and Alpharetta locations. Southeast Medical Group is currently seeking a full‑time Radiologic Technologist for one of our many locations. We are looking for a candidate who is committed to providing high quality general x‑rays, in an environment where patient care comes first. As our new x‑ray tech, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work closely with our providers and MA's to ensure that the best exam for the patient is ordered to help in their diagnosis.
  • Give quality patient care by explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety, assisting in transport and positioning of patients when necessary and ensuring safety to patients and staff by choosing correct techniques, collimating and using lead shielding.
  • Contribute to the ancillary team by assisting in several tasks, including inputting faxes, clinical documents, logging and tracking overreads, assisting with drug reps and helping in the clinic when possible.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that patient information and procedures ordered are correct by communicating with the patient and altering, if necessary, before doing exam.
  • Explain procedure to patient and aid patient in getting into the proper position for ordered exam, utilizing aids if necessary.
  • Reduce radiation to patients and staff through utilizing radiation protection techniques, beam restrictive devices, patient shielding and knowledge of exposure factors.
  • Produce a quality image with few repeats, identifying markers and correct orientation for viewing.
  • Critique images to ensure that all anatomy is included and look for potential anomalies that may require further imaging.
  • Keep a log of exams done and exams sent out for radiologist reads and ensure that results are sent to the provider in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment for staff and patients by wiping down equipment and handling all equipment with care. Report any problems immediately.
  • Assist in clinic by helping input faxes, clinical documents and assisting with drug reps in down time.
