Job summary

Sentara Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Radiology Technologist II to perform general diagnostic imaging under the direction of a qualified physician at our Norfolk, VA facility.

You will position patients for accurate anatomy visualization, operate radiation-producing equipment and electronic radiology systems, prepare rooms and supplies, and document exams. ARRT certification and at least 1 year of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or trade school certificate in radiologic sciences.
• ARRT certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in radiology.

Responsibilities

• Conducts general diagnostic radiologic imaging studies under the direction of a qualified physician.
• Position patients and operate radiology equipment for correct anatomy visualization.
• Explain examinations to patients and complete departmental documentation.

Job Description

Conducts general diagnostic radiological imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: positioning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology, operation of radiation producing equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment/medications, and maintains adequate supply inventory. Explains examination and procedure to patients and completes departmental documentation.
Grandfathered staff at time of merger with military radiologic technologist training will be accepted in lieu of ARRT registry.
