Radiology Technologist – Mercy Health

Job Summary:

The Radiological Technologist is a certified health professional responsible for applying diagnostic imaging skills through the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation in radiology, under the direction of an authorized user.

Essential Functions:

1. Obtain patient's clinical history and lab work, ensuring documentation is accessible for licensed practitioners.
2. Position and immobilize patients to best demonstrate the area of interest, respecting patient comfort and ability.
3. Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
4. Perform radiographic procedures using imaging equipment and accessories.
5. Verify informed consent and complete necessary documentation before and after procedures.
6. Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures, applying aseptic techniques as needed.

Education:

• Associates degree from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred)

Licensing & Certifications:

• Certification and Registration with ARRT (required)
• State Licensure (preferred, depending on state requirements)
• BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required, must obtain prior to direct patient care)

Experience:

• 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred)
• Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred)
