Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. seeks a Radiology Technologist to perform x-ray imaging in compliance with laws and safety protocols. You will assist physicians with diagnostics, educate patients, and ensure patient care before, during, and after procedures.

This role requires ARRT certification, RIS/PACS knowledge, and active BLS. Shifts are varied and you will work under the Radiology leadership to maintain equipment, protect patients, and follow state regulations while

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved ARRT program or current ARRT registry in Radiology Technology (R). ARRT (R), (CT) Preferred.
• Knowledge of RIS and PACS systems; BLS required.
• License as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.
• Positions radiographic equipment to produce images with necessary detail for diagnosis.
• Explains radiographic procedures to patients and obtains relevant medical history for examinations.
• Communicates effectively with patients and staff.
• Maintains radiation safety standards and uses shields/aprons to limit exposure.
• Implements regulations and clinical protocols for radiologic imaging services.
• Maintains x-ray equipment and documents cleaning/testing results.
• Maintains patient and study information for billing and RIS/PACS accuracy.
• Performs other duties as assigned by lead technologist, supervisor or manager.
• Maintains continuing education for licenses and positions.

Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist performs x-ray scans ofpatient’sinternal anatomy to aid physicians in diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. Executes radiologic services in compliance with relevant laws and regulations andprovidesconsultation advice to patients and radiology professionals. Delivers patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Appropriately positions radiographic equipment or x-ray film to produce images with necessary detail or contrastin order toassistwith diagnosis and treatment.
• Explains radiographic procedure to the patient, obtains complete andaccuratehistory relevant to the examination to being performed.
• Communicate effectively with the patient.
• Provides staff and patient protectionin accordance withprescribed radiation safety standards, including placement of shields/apronsin order tolimit radiation exposure.
• Implements andmonitorslocal,stateand national regulations, standards,requirementsand clinical protocols for radiologic imaging services.
• Maintains x-ray equipment by performing scheduled cleaning/tests and documents results.
• Maintains and updates patient and study information to ensure billing and RIS/PACS accuracy; handles patient records whilemaintainingpatient confidentiality.
• Performs other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist,supervisoror manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control.
• Responsible formaintainingcontinuing education required for licenses and job positions
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

• Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) program orcurrent validated Registry from ARRT in Radiology Technology (R). ARRT (R), (CT) Preferred.
