Wellstar is seeking a Radiology Technologist on a PRN/variable schedule in Georgia. You will operate imaging equipment, maintain ALARA practices, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Experience preferred, not required.
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography); BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and competently, maintaining ALARA.
• Disinfect and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history and verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as needed.
• Review images for diagnostic quality and repeat/correct as needed; finalize studies in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain crash cart and life-support equipment.
• Organize daily workflow to meet timeframes; support department flow and compliance.
