Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures and support patient care. You will operate radiology equipment, ensure image quality, and adhere to safety standards. The role includes mentoring junior staff and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Required education in radiologic technology, ARRT certification or eligible within 90 days, and current BLS. A state license and flexibility to travel between facilities are expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certification or registry eligible within 90 days of employment and temporary state license.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts interaction to diverse patient populations and maintains privacy.
