Job summary

Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures and mentor junior staff. You will verify orders, operate imaging equipment, and ensure image quality per protocol while communicating clearly with patients and team members.

The role requires ARRT eligibility/certification within 90 days, a valid state license, and BLS. Flexibility to travel between facilities and work varied shifts is expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• Experience in radiologic technology is preferred.
• ARRT certification or registry eligibility within 90 days of employment, and valid state license.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure accuracy.
• Uses radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient for understanding.
• Independently operates imaging equipment per protocol.
• Reviews images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Performs quality control per regulatory standards.
• Assists in departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication and approach to diverse patient populations.
