Job summary

UofL Health, a major regional health system, is seeking a Radiologic Tech to perform radiographic examinations per protocol at University Hospital - UMC. The role emphasizes accurate positioning, exposure technique, and strict radiation safety to protect patients and staff.

The candidate will prepare for and assist radiologists with complex procedures, teach students, and participate in ongoing quality assurance and department meetings within the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of JRC approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT Registered.
• KY Radiation Operator certification (KBMIRT).
• BLS.

Responsibilities

• Uses consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information for the examination and verify patient identity.
• Assess patient to determine and develop an action plan for completing the procedure.
• Performs pre and post exam patient education pertinent to exam being performed.
• Produces images according to established protocols within the Diagnostic Imaging Department, including bedside, ER, and surgery settings.
• Demonstrates good radiation safety practices during radiographic examinations, including shielding and pregnancy status checks.
