Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic procedures in a timely manner and review films for quality and positioning.

This role requires ARRT program graduation and a High School Diploma or GED, with BLS within 30 days of hire; preferred minimum of two years of experience. The tech will operate CR/DR systems, work with PACS/EMR, and support imaging quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited ARRT Program; BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Follows good radiation safety practices; i.e. coning, shielding, quarterly dosimeter monitoring, according to state and federal guidelines.
  • Positions patients, provides immobilization devices and selects proper technical factors on patients to obtain quality imaging.
  • Explains x-ray exam/procedure to patients and answers questions; uses radiopaque markers with technologist identifier on every image.
  • Operates radiographic CR/DR equipment and PACS.
  • Ensures imaging equipment is in good working condition and reports malfunctions; performs maintenance and downtime procedures.
  • Reviews patient orders and completes exam in EMR and PACS for dictation.
  • Provides patient imaging on a CD when requested; imports CDs into PACS.
  • Liaises between Ordering Providers and Radiologists; assists with Radiology questions.
  • Orders x-ray supplies and maintains PPE; performs lead apron checks.
  • Complies with CPR, license renewal, CEUs and other requirements; may precept students.
  • Recognizes adverse events and notifies appropriate personnel; adheres to annual skills competencies.
