Job summary

Qualifications

  • ARRT certification required.
  • Active radiologic technologist license in state of practice.
  • BLS certification for healthcare providers.
  • May need MA Competency Checklist for clinic/InstaCare functions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains ARRT or modality-specific competency in clinical and technical functions.
  • Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
  • Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
  • Completes studies within acceptable time limits; assists students and other Radiology Techs.
  • Provides patient education, ensures comfort, and addresses concerns.
  • Practices infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
  • Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures, and adverse reactions.
  • Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.
