Job summary

Qualifications

  • ARRT (R) certification required for practice.
  • State radiologic technologist license where applicable.
  • BLS certification for healthcare providers.
  • MA Competency Checklist may be required and used in clinic settings.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ARRT or modality competency across clinical tasks.
  • Verify patient identity, prepare patient for exams.
  • Perform exams per protocol and review image quality.
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines and ensure a safe work area.
  • Complete studies timely, guide students and junior staff.
  • Provide patient education and address concerns.
  • Follow infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Operate equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
  • Keep accurate records of procedures and any adverse reactions.
  • Follow coding, charging, and consent protocols and QC processes.
