Hourly Pay Range
$29.68 - $46.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What You Will Need
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required.
- Current ARRT registration with certification in Radiography and Illinois Emergency Management Agency, Dept of Nuclear Safety accreditation required.
- One year experience as a general radiographer with operating room experience or an NCH student Radiologic Technologist graduate with 3 months experience in surgery/OR required.
- Current CPR certification from American Heart Association required.
- Knowledge of and/or experience in the correct use of body mechanics.
- Demonstrated ability to perform numerous radiographic examinations that are required in the surgical area.
- The interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients and who may be anxious or confused and to interact with surgeons and other hospital staff.
- The analytical ability to determine proper patient positioning and to determine quality of exams performed.
- The communication skills necessary to inform patients regarding examination procedures and discuss procedure requirements with surgeons.
- The ability to maintain a flexible work schedule.
- The ability to use a computer to perform the representative functions and competencies of the job as defined by the Radiology Department.

Reporting to the Director of Radiology/Imaging with accountability to the manager and under the direction of the surgeons and radiologists, performs surgical diagnostic procedures in surgery as needed, and other diagnostic x-ray procedures; trains and supervises students in the Surgery Department area.
- Performs surgical diagnostic procedure examinations, including but not limited to Cholangiograms, hip pinning, femoral rodding, retrogrades, pacemaker implants, cystoscopy, bronchoscopy, femoral bypass, etc.
- Performs diagnostic x-ray procedures, explains procedures and exams to patients, provides instructions, and ensures patient preparation. Positions patients, applies immobilization devices, monitors patient condition, and reports changes to the surgeon. Retrieves medications, promotes AIDET concepts for interactions.
- Assists patients onto and off surgical and diagnostic tables.
- Demonstrates knowledge to care for patients across all age groups, involving family/guardians and conducting education as appropriate.
- Maintains aseptic conditions in the surgical room, cleans radiographic equipment.
- Processes images, checks quality, reports equipment malfunctions, maintains supplies, supervises and trains students, participates in on-call rotations, schedules exams, and maintains service quality.
- Engages in professional development through continuing education, seminars, and reading journals.
- Adheres to hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
