Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks a Radiology Technologist to support our mission of compassionate care through imaging excellence. You will prepare patients, perform X-ray exams, and maintain safe, clean imaging equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, graduation from an accredited radiologic technologist program, ARRT and Maryland Radiographer License, and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from an accredited radiologic technologist program.
• ARRT(R) and Maryland Radiographer License Required
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for diagnostic imaging procedures, explains procedures.
• Produce x-ray films of parts of the human body for use in diagnosing medical problems.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition. Ensures that the exam room contains the proper supplies for the diagnostic procedures.
• Follow department radiation safety procedures and protections in accordance with safety standards for patients and staff.
• Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Prepare patients for radiology procedures. Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety
• Use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
• Prepare contract media and barium.
• Perform other duties as assigned
